A thickener has a receptacle in which a thickening drum having an axial filtering wall is mounted in a receptacle for rotation about an axis. A liquid-and-solid-materials mass to be thickened is introduced into the one axial end of the thickening drum. Thereby the solid materials contained in the mass to be filtered form a filtering layer on the inner surface of the a filtering wall and liquid filtrate from the mass flows through the filtering layer and wall into the receptacle. At least one barrier plate radially divides the inner space of the thickening drum into axially sequential spaces, the barrier plate being fixed within the thickening drum for rotation therewith. The barrier plate is provided with at least one opening axially therethrough for flow of the mass to be thickened and at least one opening axially therethrough for air flow in the axial direction of the thickening drum. The thickened mass is then discharged from the other axial end of the thickening drum.

The invention relates to a thickener consisting of a receiver in which a thickening drum is installed, equipped with means for passing the thickened mass to the thickener and for discharging the thickened mass and filtrate from the thickener.
The purpose of the invention is to increase the condensation efficiency by increasing the filtration area.
Figure 1 shows the thickener, a general view; figure 2 - section aa in figure 1; on fig.Z - thickener working under pressure, a general view; figure 4 - section bb in fig.Z; figure 5 - drum thickener of figure 1, a General view, and its work; 6 shows a thickener drum of FIG. 3, a general view, and its operation.
The thickener consists of the receiver I, in which the drum 2 is installed. The thickener drum has open ends and rotates around the drum shaft in the receiver 1 using an electric motor 3 in the direction shown by the arrow. The ends of the drum 2 are sealed with sealing rings 4, 5 (flat or Y-shaped) groove). An inlet 6 is provided for feeding the condensed mass into the drum, and the nozzles 7 and 8, respectively, for the exit of the condensed pass and filtrate.
The mixture, which in the preferred embodiment contains less than 2% solids, through the end of receiver 1 is fed into the interior of the drum 2 thickener for thickening. In this case, the solid particles contained in the mixture form

There is at least one partition 10 inside the drum 2 of the thickener, which rotates with the drum and divides the internal volume of the drum of the thickener into successive compartments 11 in the longitudinal direction. The meaning of the partition 10 is to prevent the thickener from displacing in the longitudinal direction, while the consistency of solid materials continuously increases along the entire length of the drum 2 of the thickener. Partitions 10 must have openings for the passage of a thickened mass and. of air. Openings for the passage of condensable mass can be performed in 1 partition 10 in various ways and the openings for the passage of air 12 should be placed on the outer periphery of the partition 10 above the liquid level so that they can easily equalize the pressure. A spraying device 13 is located on the outside of the drum at its upper part. On the drum 2 of the frame structure there is a filtering mesh fixed above which there is a supporting mesh, and this supporting mesh has such strength that the thickener drum can be filled with liquid and solid condensable materials while receiver 1 is completely empty.
The thickener under pressure (Figs. 3 and 4) has an increased filtration surface due to the use of the curved surface of the filtering wall of the drum.
In the receiver 14, a drum 15 is placed, driven by an electric motor 16. The ends of the thickener drum 15 are sealed with seals 17 and 18, the condensable mass is fed into the inlet 19, and the condensed mass and filtrate are unloaded through the nozzle 20 and 21, respectively. materials are fed into the drum 15 in a manner similar to that used in the embodiment of Figures 1 and 2, whereby a filter layer 22 is formed on the inner surface of the drum 15 of the thickener.

Inside the base 15, at least one partition 23 is provided, rotating with the drum 15, the partition dividing the internal volume of the drum in the longitudinal direction into successive compartments 24. The openings in the partitions 10 and 24 can be arranged in different ways. One or more openings 25 may be placed in the middle of the partition for the passage of the bulk of the mass contained in the thickener drum. An opening 26 for the passage of air is located along the outer periphery of the partitions, whereby they can be placed alternately above the surface of the liquid as the drum rotates and the air flows towards the other side of the partition. The flow of the condensed mass in the course of air through the holes 25 and 26 in different positions is indicated by arrows (Figures 5 and 6). At the top of the thickener drum 15, at the top of the drum, there are spray devices 27 for spraying the filter wall of the drum 15 of the thickener of washing liquid (water or filtrate from the thickener). This flushing (cleaning) fluid is particularly effective because layer 9 and 22 formed by solid particles are not pushed through the surface. The direction of flow of the washing liquid is reversed with respect to the direction of flow of the filtrate. In accordance with this, the filtering surface will be cleaned extremely effectively. The level of flow through the pipes 7 and 20 can be easily adjusted in the vertical direction.
The thickener works as follows.
When the amount of mass pumped to condense into drums 2 and 15 exceeds the amount of filtrate flowing through the drum surface, the level of liquid inside drums 2 and 15 begins to rise until it reaches the pipes 7 and 20 provided on one side of the receiver. The condensed mass passes through the flow outlet, and the filtrate flowing into the pool is immediately discharged. The filter layers 9 and 20, formed by solid particles on the inner surface of the drums 2 and 15, fall down under the action of gravity as the drum rotates and mixes with 51
keep the drum. The filtering surface of drums 2 and 15 of the thickener is rinsed from the outer surface to the inside of the drum by means of spray devices 13 and 27, due to which the filter layer adhered to the inner surface of the filter drum breaks off and falls down. The destruction of the filter layers 9 and 22 to clean the screen with greater efficiency can be accomplished by creating a small vacuum at the upper end of the thickener drum using a blower so that air or gas is sucked against the direction of filtration. With this method of operation, the mesh forming the filtering surface is kept clean even in the case of processing difficult-to-filter materials. A reduced pressure blower may be connected to the nozzle 28.
The consistency of the mass discharged from the thickener through the nozzles 7 and 20 is easily controlled by changing the speed of rotation of the drum (a more consistent mass with increasing speed of rotation of the drum). The pressure drop in the thickener can also be controlled by changing the position of the level of overflow through the pipes 7 and 20 or by adjusting the level of the filtrate contained in the receiver. The maximum value of the differential pressure of the PD may be 1, 8 of the diameter of the drum. In this case, the receivers 1 and 14 are empty. The curved surface of the filter element can be applied in the version with vacuum, and the even surface - when working under pressure, if such modifications prove necessary.
The baffles can be supported, for example, on a central support attached along the axis of symmetry of the drum, so that there can be a gap between the outer periphery of the baffles and the inner surface of the drum, which forms an opening for mass flow or for air, depending on the situation. However, it is also possible to mount the periphery of the partitions on the inner surface of the drum. Partitions with different types of holes can be freely combined in the same drum, and the number of partitions can be chosen completely freely.

1. A thickener containing a receiver in which a drum is installed for supplying a condensable mass into it, and means for discharging the condensed mass and filtrate from a thickener, characterized in that, in order to increase the condensation efficiency by increasing the filtration area, the drum is provided with at least one a town rigidly fixed inside the drum and dividing the internal volume of the drum of the thickener into compartments arranged in series in the longitudinal direction, while the partition has at least one opening for passage thick mass and the at least one opening for the passage of air in the longitudinal direction of the drum thickener, wherein the receiver end is provided with an overflow for discharging the thickened mass.
